Bing Liang from Navo tours dropped me a line about a week ago asking if I yet have any detailed plannings or schedules about trip. Well, we're not that far yet, although it seem very likely that Signet will be ready for test drive by next May-June.
So, how is Signet now? To save you from re-reading all my previous posts from this year, I decided to give you a brief explanation what is done and what need to be done before we can hit the key and take it on the hightway!
Basically all bigger pieces are done. Body work is entirely done, engine is done waiting for installation, suspension and steering systems are done and brakes are almost done. Only master cylinder need to be mounted and the system filled with brake fluid and then it's done too! All that is left is basically just bolting things together, oh yes, the transmission needs be checked and some worn out parts maybe replaced before installation, but it won't take longer than few hours!
What's left to do then...? Well, interior needs to be put in, front fenders and hood needs to installed, engine and transmission are waiting for installation too, and then there electric systems and wiring harness that must be replaced, too! But I have everything ready! I got all the pieces and all that is needed is assembling, assembling, assembling and assembling... And before the ultimate road trip begins, there will be some additional "rearmament" that needs to be attached, but that's not what I consider as a part of this rebuilding period:) That'll be another story:)
